Lasting Traditional Playdough
Materials:
1 cup
flour
1 cup
warm water
2
teaspoons cream of tartar
1
teaspoon oil
1/4
cup salt
food
coloring
Directions:
Mix
all ingredients, adding food coloring last. Slowly stir over medium
heat until smooth. Remove from pan and knead it until it is smooth.
Place in plastic bag or airtight container when cooled. This recipe
makes playdough that will last a long time.

Playdough Recipe
Materials:

Directions:
Mix
together well. You can put dry Kool-Aid or Jell-O in the mix if you
want colored dough.

recipe for using with cutouts or cookie cutters. Mix ingredients in
pan. Add food coloring. Stir on low heat. When it thickens remove
from heat. Put some on waxed paper or floured surface and roll out.
Cut out objects. Air dry objects for a few days. Store un-used
portion in air-tight container.
Use
straws to punch holes for hanging. Glue sequins or other items to
clay.
Applesauce
Cinnamon Dough

dough with a great texture!
Materials:
½
cup cinnamon
½
cup applesauce
zip
lock type plastic bag
Directions:
Put
ingredients into the plastic bag. Seal and knead the bag until the
mixture turns to dough. (you can give a baggie to each child if you
like, and finish up the kneading when they are done.
Allow
all creations to dry for 12 hours or until hard to touch
Tips
and Ideas:
- Roll dough out to about ¼ inch thick and use cookie cutters to create tree ornaments or package ties. Don't forget to make a small hole in the top of your creation before it dries. Use string, ribbon, or raffia to hang. These will also make great gifts from your preschoolers.
